Ken R. Welsh
President and CEO
Ken R. Welsh is a Florida State Certified General Contractor, CGC, #CGC 041824, who has 35+ years’ experience in the Central Florida construction industry. Ken attended University of Central Florida for both Bachelor studies in Construction Engineering Technology and an AS in Civil Engineering.
Mr. Welsh was the co-owner and company qualifier of G & S Contractors, Inc. for 15 years and subsequently merged with BRPH Construction Services, Inc. becoming the Director of Operations and company qualifier for 5 years prior to forming WELSH CONSTRUCTION in 2003.
His experience ranges from land acquisitions, project financing, site permitting and zoning, engineering and architectural design coordination, accounting and legal coordination/reviews, technical engineering support, scheduling, cost estimating, budgeting, contract negotiation, project closeout, and warranty coordination.
Welsh Construction, LLC was formed in 2003 for the purpose of providing commercial construction and design build services to selected customers throughout the State of Florida and beyond. Mr. Welsh firmly believes in the “team” concept on all projects and with customers his goal is to “build relationships for life.”
Gary Goodwin is a Florida State Certified General Contractor, CGC, FL #CGC 1512212 who has over 40 years working experience in Florida, throughout the United States and the Middle East. He has a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction from the University of Florida. Certified OSHA training.
Prior to joining the Welsh Companies in 2012, Mr. Goodwin owned and operated two construction companies and as a result, has an in-depth knowledge of the construction industry from initial business development, through pre-construction, contract administration, construction management, estimating, site sub-contractor coordination, continuing project management, to project close-out. He has experienced knowledge of government projects with the US military, Kennedy Space Center, NASA, Harris Corporation, etc.
Mr. Goodwin is an accomplished fisherman in Florida and the Keys with stories to match and has a private pilot license-multi-engine, instrument rated.
Business Development Director
Chris Norton recently joined the “Welsh team” and serves as the Business Development Director. With boundless energy, he provides business development, marketing, public relations, website development, planning services and assists with multiple projects that are either in progress or out to bid.
Mr. Norton has a BA and Masters of Public Administration from Northeastern University. For the City of Boston, population 600,000, he was a city planner and economic developer for 9 years.
Chris was the planning and economic development director for the City of Palm Bay for 23+ years and supervised the building, planning, economic development, code enforcement and community development departments. During that time, he developed an excellent business reputation and extensive contacts throughout Brevard, Indian River County, and East Central Florida in the public and private sectors.
During the last 8 years, Mr. Norton has served as a business development director and is active in several chambers of commerce and the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast. He is a Florida Real Estate Sales Associate, member of the International Conference of Shopping Centers and the Florida Self Storage Association.
William Winfield has just recently joined the “Welsh team” as a Project Manager. He has over 20+ years in the construction industry and has worked in the Carolinas and Georgia. He completed his college studies at Southwestern Community College.
Prior to joining the Welsh Companies in 2016, Mr. Winfield was vice president and part owner of Carolina Builder Services, a full service residential and commercial construction company for 13 years where he managed projects of all sizes from the footers to the final punch list. Prior to that, he was the owner of Winfield Hardwood Floors Highlands, North Carolina for seven years.
As the project manager for Welsh on the Coral Reef Academy, Shoff Insurance Center and Dr. Roque Medical Offices projects, Mr. Winfield has already established his “customer service” reputation locally by providing excellent service while managing all facets of the project.
Although Mr. Winfield has a busy schedule, he is an avid golfer and he and his wife enjoy camping and international travel.
