WELSH CONSTRUCTION SELECTED BY TELLUS BUILDING SYSTEMS
Welsh Construction, a rapidly growing commercial general contractor based in Melbourne, recently became an authorized builder for the Tellus Building Systems tellusbuildingsystems.com. Tellus designs, engineers and manufactures advanced, high performance, lightweight, concrete composite building superstructures. On commercial and multi-family projects, thin, lightweight concrete wall panels attached to steel framing are produced off site, trucked in pre- assembled and can be erected by cranes in less time and cost compared to the traditional manual process. Commercial buildings can now be wind rated to 250 mph plus. “We look forward to using this system on new buildings throughout Brevard County and the southeastern states.” said Ken Welsh, President/CEO.

Welsh Construction announces promotion
of Norton to vice president of development
Longtime area general contractor Welsh Construction recently announced that Chris Norton has been promoted to vice president of development. Norton started with the company in December of 2015 as business development director and since that time, Welsh, a general commercial contractor, has tripled its staff and has projects underway throughout the state. The commercial construction sector in Brevard County and in East Central Florida is experiencing strong growth and Welsh Construction has been busy at project sites, including one of its own. The company just completed its new 10,000–square–foot office complex at 3845 W. Eau Gallie Blvd. in Melbourne. Welsh Construction was formed by Ken Welsh in 2003. The firm provides commercial construction and renovation and design–build services in a number of sectors. These include education — public, private and religious based; office, self–storage, retail, multi–family, churches and industrial. “Welsh strives to create relationships for life.” For further information about its services and current projects, call 757–7383 or visit www.WelshCI.com.
Experience, Resilience, & Trust
They say, “experience is the best teacher,” though some have challenged this maxim and suggest instead that “the experience of others is the best teacher.” Both are, in fact, correct and when it comes to finding a firm that can handle something as complex as a construction project, no one wants to pay the price to learn from a bad experience. Therefore, a contractor’s track record and background becomes paramount, as the ramifications both in capital and time are simply too high to afford the smallest margin of error.
New Headquarters, lease space available!
For both Welsh Companies and the construction industry, 2016 was a busy year in Brevard County and the East Central Florida market! And, 2017 appears to be on a similar track. Welsh doubled their staff over the last year and just started construction on their new headquarters in Melbourne at 3907 W. Eau Gallie Boulevard. The 10,000 square foot complex will house the offices of Welsh, Shane Smith, PA and has lease space available for other retail/office use.
